QuiltFest New England August 11 – 13

QuiltFest New England will be returning to the MassMutual Center in  Springfield, Massachusetts, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, August 11-13, 2022. 

The Festival will feature the entries to the QuiltFest New England National Quilt Competition, an array of special exhibits, and the always fabulous Merchants Mall. In addition, a talented faculty will present workshops where you may learn the latest in quilting techniques.  A special Meet & Greet Ice Cream Social with the entire faculty will take place, and is included with your festival registration. Finally, the Festival’s daytime lectures are included with festival registration as well as general admission.

Charity Pick up and Drop Off Wednesday, June 29th from 2:30 to 3:00 pm

Pick up and drop off at the parking lot behind Quilters Common.  Hope you can make this date to drop off your items and pick up a few more kits for the charities.  Thank you all for all the work you do – it is certainly appreciated.  If you need batting for a charity quilt, let me know and I will bring it.

Membership will also be available to collect your dues for the next year.

NPQ Auction Postponed!

The North Parish Quilters Auction and Sale , originally scheduled for May 11, has been postponed until June 8, 2022 due to COVID cases among the membership. Although the risk of spread by next week is very slight, the officers felt it safest to postpone until next month.

Details of the Auction other than the date remain the same. We hope members will come to support the Guild in June. Drawing for the Raffle Quilt is also postponed to that date.

Please share this important info with your quilting and sewing friends who may have planned to attend in May and encourage them to come in June.

January Meeting Activity

Well, it is January and our traditional charity month.  We are going to do something a bit different.  Our January Membership Meeting will start at 7 pm.  Once the business portion ends, we all go off and sew charity blocks.

Have your fabric, machine threaded,  and other items ready to begin sewing. You will get additional details about the half-square blocks you will be making at the end of the business meeting.
For Hole in the Wall Gang –  6 ¾” blocks of white or beige along with colorful or novelty prints.  Place a white or beige block with a color or novelty print.
For Veterans – 6 ¾” blocks of Red, White or Blue.

At 8:15, all join back on Zoom and share the blocks made.  Those individuals that were on for both the business portion and also rejoined at 8:15 will be entered into a drawing for a $25.00 gift card to Mary Roses Quilts and Treasures.  If you are Zooming with friends, be sure to let Karen King know who is present so you can be entered into the drawing.

As usual, doors open at 6:30 with our business meeting at 7.
We have a terrific speaker tonight, Jennifer Sorenson who will be presenting a trunk show. Jennifer is a modern quilter with a particular interest in paper piecing.
