North Parish Quilters Winter Wonderland
December 14, 2016
Winter wonderland has arrived!!!!
For our annual Holiday Tea this year we are going to try something different. The guild this year is going to have our gala event catered. There will be an assortment of hot foods for your dining pleasure and of course a wonderful arrangement of delicious dessert. You will just need to bring your favorite tea cup and of course someone at the table should also bring their favorite tea pot.
We would love you to show off your favorite Holiday Quilt for our show and tell enjoyment.
Do not forget to bring some extra cash with you that night because we will have a few of our guild members vending for the night and of course let’s not forget about our Raffle Baskets. Remember this is the time to purchase any last minute gifts you may have forgotten. It is a great time to pick up that little extra something.
A quick reminder that the meeting will start at 6:00 pm and remember this is going to be a fun evening with friends and fellow quilters celebrating the Holidays.
If you would like to help out some homeless people this year, please donate hats, mittens, scarfs, socks, any items that they might like. We will be donating these items to the Bread of Life in Malden, Ma. There will be a tree that we will be hanging these items on.
This is the guilds way of saying “Thank you” for all that you do, so come and enjoy the fun and festivities of the night. It surely will be a lot of laughs. Hope to see you there.
The Hole in the Wall Sit and Sew at the Mattera Cottage was a great time. We were able to get quite a few quilt tops started or finished.
Thank you to the ladies who participated in this fun event.
Please join us to sew quilt tops for our Hole in the Wall Charity.

Happy New Year Everyone!
HERE is the Newsletter. Please join us on Wednesday, January 13th for our traditional Charity Night.
Happy Holidays!!! Tis The Season…..
Please bring any finished pillowcases or quilts or quilt related projects that you have to the December meeting. I will be making a drop off to Yawkey Family Inn shortly after the meeting so the children can have these items for the holidays. The Home has told me that there will be a full house for the Christmas Holiday. The quilts and pillowcases are much needed — an added treat of a Pillowcase or quilt for the children is so meaningful for them – especially at this time of the year where they are away from their support of family and friends. I thank each and every one of you who has contributed in some way to Yawkey Family Inn quilts and pillowcases. I wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season.
Many thanks to Marcia for delivering our MANY quilts to the Hole in the Wall Camp. Marcia says they SO LOVE our quilts because they are so bright and cheery, and lots for boys as well. The 2015 totals were 86 quilts and 135 plus pillowcases.
WOW!!! With all your hard work, we exceeded our goal of 80 quilts. THANK YOU everyone who participated in any way. Every little bit helps.
This year quilts were also given to “almost campers”. This improves the lives of children who are in the hospital or at home and not able to attend camp.
And, Marcia reports that there is a program just formed that gives the older campers who can no longer come to camp a prom night. Everything, of course, was donated. Many of these children have such serious medical issues that they can’t complete school.
Also — remember our next season’s charity block is the same — the two-fabric block, a square framed by another square. If you make a few for September, one of the fabrics should be BLUE!
Cheers and have a great summer,
